Fani Kostourou is a Senior Urban Data Analyst at HLM Architects and an Associate Lecturer on the MA Cities course at UAL Central Saint Martins. Based in London, she works at the intersection of urban design and spatial analytics, using evidence-based methods to help students and clients turn complex urban data into actionable insights and sustainable design solutions. She has worked internationally through a range of collaborations, and her research and design work has been shown in New York, Rio de Janeiro, and Venice. She has contributed to journals and edited volumes on urban transformation and spatial practice, and has taken part in conference committees and public lectures around the world. Fani has taught and researched at Cardiff University, the University for the Creative Arts, The Bartlett, the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, and the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology. She also served as Associate Director for Europe at the research organisation Theatrum Mundi. Her work is driven by a commitment to inclusive, place‑sensitive city-making. She is particularly interested in how data and creative spatial practices can support communities, improve public spaces, and enable more collaborative approaches to shaping cities.
