Dr Jacek Ludwig Scarso (PhD) is Reader in Art and Performance at London Metropolitan University, where he is Deputy Director of CREATURE (Research Centre in Creative Arts, Cultures and Engagement), leads the MA Public Art & Performative Practices and is University Teaching Fellow. He is Senior Curator at Fondazione Marta Czok (Rome, Venice), curating its international exhibitions and fostering collaborations that emphasise the relationship between contemporary art and social engagement. He is Executive Board Member at City Space Architecture, Research Associate for Museo Spazio Pubblico in Bologna, Member of the British Art Network and Trustee of The Line, London’s first dedicated public art walk. His artistic and curatorial projects have been presented worldwide, with recent collaborations including Tate Modern, RMIT University in Melbourne, Museo MACRO in Rome and the British Council in Hong Kong. Jacek has published extensively and regularly presents on subjects like public art, public space, performance and creative placemaking. He was invited to moderate the London Sculpture Week Symposium in 2024 and 2025, featuring The Line, Frieze Sculpture, Fourth Plinth, V&A East and Sculpture in the City.
