Kathryn Ewing
Member, Senior Advisor on Public Space and Geographic Coordinator
Kathryn Ewing, PhD is a professional architect, urban designer and planner. She is a Senior Lecturer in Urban Design at the School of Architecture, Planning and Geomatics, University of Cape Town. Her research focuses on safe and inclusive public space, including the co-design and co-production of the public realm and alternate Southern practice and place-making. She is a co-founding Director of Violence Prevention through Urban Upgrading Non-Profit Company in South Africa.
Engagement with City Space Architecture:
Kathryn Ewing brought her expertise to CSA in 2024 as a Senior Advisor on Public Space. She has delivered a keynote lecture for the Public Space Academy and contributes as a peer reviewer for The Journal of Public Space.
