Lalu Tandur is a Master’s student in Geography, Spatial Management, and Heritage for International Cooperation at the University of Florence. Originally from Lombok, Indonesia, his work centres on how tourism reshapes public space, with attention to spatial justice, urban heritage, and the everyday ways people occupy and contest urban environments. His attention to how space divides and includes people predates his move to urban geography.
He completed a degree in International Relations in Indonesia, graduating with a research on contemporary racial segregation in the United States, an early engagement with the spatial logic of inequality. He also wrote and circulated foreign-policy analysis as research staff for the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia’s UII chapter.
He works across collaboration that treats public space as a shared, contested, democratic resource.
