Louise Rollman
Member and Senior Advisor on Public Space
Louise Rollman (PhD) is a curator, art historian, cultural strategist, and producer with expansive curatorial and research practices that incorporate policy and academic domains. Her research examines the political economy of art, with a particular focus on the intersection of urban development and management practices that shape the production and reception of arts and culture, and on fostering the conditions that enable the sector to thrive. As a curator working across gallery-museum, multi-arts, and public realm contexts, she has facilitated numerous exhibition projects, including complex, city-shaping public art commissions that project onto bridges, wrap ferries, dive into bodies of water, and reshape the earth. Past projects include ‘my own private neon oasis’ (2011) (cat.)—which, in recognition of its innovation, influence, and reach, was awarded the 2012 Gallery and Museum Achievement Award (GAMAA), M&G QLD, amongst other awards and best practice recognitions. Additionally, she regularly contributes to publications, public programming, with her professional insight and advice frequently sought through advisory panels, international juries, and peer reviews. Her research is increasingly recognised for its contributions to contemporary art and cultural discourse.
