Sridevi Rao is a Landscape Architect based in Hyderabad, India. She received her Doctorate from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi in 2002. Since 1981, through her Firm, Sridevi Associates, she has completed more than 200 major projects all over India with a focus on industrial and infra landscapes to reduce water, soil and air pollution. She has presented and published papers in various international fora and journals, respectively. She is the author of the book entitled, ‘A Measure of Community: Public Open Space and Sustainable Development Goal 11.7’ published in 2016. She reviews books and articles for international journals. At present, she is an Associate Editor for Cities and Health Journal (Taylor and Francis). She won the first prize for the international competition that was held for the landscaping of the setting for the iconic Buddha statue in Hussain Sagar Lake, Hyderabad, among other state awards. Her project on Reclamation of Opencast Mines was listed in the ‘Outstanding Category’ in the Rolex Awards for Enterprise, Switzerland. Since 1983, she has taught students of architecture and continues to teach as a part of the visiting faculty in Hyderabad. She actively engages in reviewing theses of doctoral students from various universities in India.
