City Space Architecture was selected to be part of the 9th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF9), which took place on 7-13 February 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, convened by UN-Habitat, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme. This ninth session was recognised by the General Assembly resolution 70/210 as the first session to have a thematic focus on the implementation of the New Urban Agenda (NUA) adopted at Habitat III, the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Development, held in Quito, Ecuador, in 2016.
City Space Architecture was one of 200 exhibitors selected from 50 countries! We had an exhibition stand at the Forum’s main venue, which was located at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, adjacent to the Petronas Towers. Our exhibition was titled ‘WE THE PEOPLE, WE THE PUBLIC SPACE‘ and was promoted in collaboration with Queensland University of Technology (Australia), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Auckland (New Zealand), and Thammasat University (Thailand).
Our President Dr Luisa Bravo was the curator of the exhibition. Valerio Francia was the organisational manager of our exhibition space. We showcased our international public space projects, including our successful journal, The Journal of Public Space, which we launched at the Habitat III conference in Quito.

Our Founder and President Dr Luisa Bravo interviewed 30 global stakeholders who were attending the 9th World Urban Forum in Kuala Lumpur. These stakeholders included academic scholars, professionals, and activists who are actively engaged in implementing the New Urban Agenda, which was adopted at the Habitat III conference in Quito in 2016.
They were asked to explain why public space matters.
