Our Global Community

City Space Architecture is the first non-profit organisation dedicated exclusively to advancing public space knowledge worldwide.
As a member-based organisation, City Space Architecture currently engages over 100 international members and 300+ affiliated volunteers across all continents, creating a robust global scholarly network that bridges academic theory with practical implementation and advice for policymaking.

City Space Architecture receives funding ONLY from membership fees, contributions, grants and donations. 100% of all donations go towards supporting our projects and activities.
Your membership and support in fulfilling our mission are extremely important.

OUR GOVERNANCE

City Space Architecture is a horizontal, member-led, non-profit cultural association. A small formal executive council board, elected by members every three years, is complemented by a scientific committee, an advisory board of senior and early-career experts and several geographic coordinators, all appointed by the executive council board.
Leadership is distributed through co-chairing roles, mentoring of younger colleagues, peer-reviewed content curation and initiative design. This networked model means that City Space Architecture acts less like a centralised institution and more like a global platform, based on a democratic and decentralised governance, where members are co-authors and co-organisers of activities and initiatives.
